Jane Dutly, MSW, RSW

Social Worker

Jane is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist in Ontario with over 30 years of clinical experience working in child and adult mental health - 25 years on Vancouver Island and 10 years in Ontario. Jane holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from York University and a Masters Degree in Conflict Analysis and Management from Royal Roads University.

Her clinical work is guided by evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness. Jane has completed certification in Gottman Marriage Counseling, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Trauma Therapy, Anger Management, and psychoeducational programs to support children and families with ADHD.

Jane's love of people, and connection to community and family health, is at the foundation of her social work journey. Within hospital and community settings she has worked with families and individuals with a wide range of concerns as they struggle with stress, workplace and family conflict, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, Autism, grief and often chronic illness.

It has been an honour over the past 30 years to witness individuals healing as they successfully create a team that can support them in connecting to their strengths, create a space in which to be supported, reconnect with the interests and passions that bring them back to a place of health, know that "struggling is not failing," and cultivate and nurture deep compassion and kindness for themselves and those they love.

When not working, Jane is drawn to the beauty of Simcoe County and the spectacular sunsets over Georgian Bay. She enjoys volunteering with local non-profits, paddling through the wetlands, biking the old rail trails and listening to the sounds of the lake in the depth of winter.

Jane loves the music created within the world around her. She has been especially grateful over the past few years for the creativity she has witnessed; for example, how our local library system kept the community connected through Zoom programs while supporting lifelong learning and access to books.

Jane provides psychological services under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist. For more information about supervised psychological services, please click here.
