Dr Alison Crocker, PhD, CPsych
Clinical, School and Developmental Psychologist
Dr. Alison Crocker brings her experience working in a wide range of school-based and mental health settings to her work with children, adolescents and families. She began her career providing assessments and therapy to preschool-age children and their families at The Child's Place in Windsor before working with children, adolescents and their families in a variety of outpatient, day treatment and inpatient settings, including North Central Human Resource Centre (Minot, ND), Child and Family Treatment Centre (Cornwall, ON), and the Adolescent Inpatient and Day Hospital Unit (Brampton, ON). She has also provided assessment services to several school boards, including those in Simcoe County.
Dr. Crocker offers an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on aspects of cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, interpersonal, psychodynamic and play-based therapies in her work with children, adolescents and their families. Her focus is collaborative and strength-based, exploring and building on the strengths of her clients to achieve their goals.
Dr. Crocker works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, obsessions and compulsions, and executive functioning challenges.
Dr. Crocker provides comprehensive developmental, psychoeducational and mental health assessments for preschool-age and older children and adolescents. Areas of assessment include developmental and learning disabilities, ADHD and executive functioning, autism, anxiety and depression.
Dr. Crocker also provides a nonjudgmental and supportive environment for families seeking assessment and therapy services who continue to have concerns regarding COVID-19.
Dr. Alison Crocker earned an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg (1985), followed by her M.A. (1989) and Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology (1994) from the University of Windsor. She is registered as a Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association.
